Chrome extension for agencies and freelancers
The accessibility audit report your client can actually read
Websight scans the page you are on, scores it out of 100, explains every issue in plain English with a suggested fix for each element, and turns it into a branded PDF you can send to a client. All on your computer.
Coming to the Chrome Web Store. Free to use; Pro is an optional paid upgrade.
Free to use, no account. Pro is an optional paid upgrade. Works in Chrome and other Chromium browsers.
- Free, unlimited scans
- No page content leaves your computer
- Built on the open-source axe-core engine
Scanning a fictional bakery site. Silent, with captions on screen. The YouTube version loads only if you press play.
From "can you check our site?" to a report in minutes
No account, no crawler, no server. Open the page, click Scan, and work through the findings with the person who has to fix them.
Scan the page you are on
Click the Websight icon on any page, including staging sites and pages behind a login, because the scan runs inside your own tab. You get a score out of 100 and every issue grouped by impact.
Read the fix, not the rule number
Each finding says what is wrong, why it matters to a real person, which elements are affected, the WCAG 2.2 criterion, and a suggested before-and-after snippet built from the element's own markup. Highlight it on the live page or copy a developer handoff.
Send a report with your name on it
With Pro, add the other pages of the site, then make a PDF with your logo, an executive summary, a prioritised fix list, element screenshots and a manual checklist. Built on your computer, saved to your library.
What you see
Real screens from a scan of the fictional Harbour Bakery demo site, prepared by the fictional agency Harbour Digital. No client data, no stock mockups.

- Manual checklist with tick boxes, and a WCAG 2.2 and EAA context page
Every page of the report carries the line "Automated tools find only part of the accessibility problems. This is not a certificate of legal compliance."

Private by design
Websight scans only the tab you click on, only when you click. It makes no requests to the sites you scan and sends no page content anywhere. Results, audits and your branding stay on your computer. The only service it contacts is ExtensionPay, to confirm a Pro subscription. Permissions: activeTab, scripting and storage. No all-sites access, no AI service, no server.
Honest limits
Automated tools find only part of the accessibility problems on a page. Suggested fixes are drafts generated on your computer from the page's own markup; a person must check that alt text, names and colours make sense. Websight cannot edit your website: it gives you instructions and code to paste. It is a testing aid for freelancers, agencies and in-house teams. It does not certify that a site meets WCAG, the European Accessibility Act, the Equality Act 2010 or any other law, and nothing it produces is legal advice.
Questions
What does Websight check?
Websight runs the open-source axe-core engine against the WCAG 2.2 success criteria that automated tools can test: missing text alternatives, colour contrast, form labels, link and button names, page language, heading and landmark structure, ARIA use, target size and more. It is about every kind of accessibility, not only sight: the checks cover vision, hearing, motor and cognitive needs as far as an automated tool can go. Each finding shows the affected elements, the WCAG criterion, why it matters to real users and a suggested fix.
What can it not check?
Automated tools find only part of the accessibility problems on a page. Websight cannot judge whether alt text is meaningful, whether the whole site works with a keyboard in a sensible order, how a page sounds in a screen reader, whether captions are accurate, or whether content is clear to people with cognitive differences. It also cannot see pages and states it was not shown, such as dialogs, error states or content behind a login you did not open. The Pro report includes a 25-point manual checklist for those checks, and a free printable version is on this site.
Does any page content leave my computer?
No. Websight scans only the tab you click on, only when you click. It makes no requests to the sites you scan and sends no page content anywhere. Results, audits, branding and PDF reports are built and stored on your computer. The only service it contacts is ExtensionPay, to confirm a Pro subscription. There are no analytics in the extension, and this website sets no cookies. Details are in the privacy policy.
How does the score work?
The score starts at 100. Each type of issue found takes points off: critical 10, serious 7, moderate 4, minor 2. An issue that appears on many elements takes up to twice as many points (10 percent more for each extra element, up to 10 extra). The result is kept between 0 and 100. It only counts problems the automated engine can detect, so it is a way to compare scans of the same page over time, not a measure of WCAG conformance or legal compliance. The full method, with worked examples.
Is this about the European Accessibility Act?
Only as context. The EAA (Directive 2019/882) has applied to certain products and services sold in the EU since 28 June 2025, and the technical standard usually cited for websites points to WCAG level AA. Websight tests the WCAG 2.2 criteria that can be automated and includes a careful, non-legal context page in the Pro report. It does not state whether any website meets the EAA, the Equality Act 2010 or any other law, and nothing it produces is legal advice. Ask a qualified adviser about your own situation.
Can I use it on staging sites or pages behind a login?
Yes. The scan runs inside the tab you have open, so anything you can see in Chrome can be scanned: localhost, staging, pages behind your own login. Nothing is fetched from outside.
What is the refund policy?
Pro starts with a 7-day free trial, and you can cancel at any time through ExtensionPay; access continues to the end of the period you have paid for. If something is broken and we cannot fix it, ask within 14 days of a charge and we will refund it. Consumers in the UK keep their statutory rights. Full terms.
